Bio

Dr. Parikshak is a highly experienced cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon with Cardiac Surgery Associates, S.C., with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients with heart, lung, and vascular conditions. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care while using the most advanced surgical techniques available.

Dr. Parikshak earned his Bachelor of Science with Highest Distinction from Purdue University–Indianapolis and his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, including a year of specialized training in critical care, followed by advanced fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.

Since joining Franciscan Health Indianapolis in 2005, Dr. Parikshak has continued to expand his expertise, with a strong focus on minimally invasive and advanced surgical approaches. He treats a wide range of conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart valve disease (including transcatheter valve procedures), atrial fibrillation, aortic aneurysms and dissections, lung disease, and vascular disease. His surgical skills include minimally invasive heart surgery, Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS), and robotic-assisted surgery using the Da Vinci system.

Dr. Parikshak has performed a high volume of complex procedures with excellent outcomes and is committed to helping patients recover more quickly and comfortably through Enhanced Recovery After Cardiac Surgery (ERACS) protocols. He is actively involved in clinical research and has published on innovative approaches to patient care. He is recognized as one of Indianapolis Monthly magazine’s “Top Doctors.”
